"Once you agree upon the price you and your family must pay for success, it enables you to ignore the minor hurts, the opponent's pressure, and the temporary failures."

Team Records Broken at Jr. Nationals
Mike On Tuesday, March 18, 2008 Michael Pryor finished in 14th place in the 1000 Freestyle and broke the Greenwood team record with a time of 9:21.31. He shaved almost 5 seconds off his best time and shattered the record that was previously held by Stefan Bartl of 9:26.48 in 2004. In addition, Rachael Desantis had two life time best in the 100 Breaststroke (1:05) and the 200 Fly (2:05.1). An interesting note about Jr. Nationals this year, because this is an Olympic year the events are being swam in yards for Trials and meters for Finals.

On Wednesday, March 19, 2008, Lindsey Hagens had two 3rd place finishes during Trials in the 200 yard Backstroke and the 100 yard Breaststroke. Lindsey Hagens broke the Greenwood 100 Breaststroke record with a time of 1:03.22. The record was previously set by Karri Charpentier in 1997 with a time of 1:03.63. That evening, she swam the events again in meters for Finals. She landed in 7th place in her 100 meter Breaststroke with a time of 1:14.35 and held onto her 3rd place ranking in the 200 meter Backstroke with a time of 2:18.20. Unfortunately, her 200 meter Backstroke was 2/10ths of a second off of qualifying her for the Olympic Team Trials! Coach Lemieux said, "It was extremely difficult for Lindsey to have the advantage she needed because we haven't been training in a 50 meter pool on a consistent basis. She will be doing a time trial on Friday, March 21st in hopes of capturing the 200 Backstroke time. If she doesn't get it here, we will come home, work harder and make sure Lindsey has another shot at it!" The Olympic Team Trials will be held in Omaha, Nebraska on June 29 - July 6, 2008. If Lindsey can qualify, she will join former teammate Erica Meissner who will be swimming the 100 Back, 200 Back, 200 IM and 400 IM at the Olympic Team Trials.

On Thursday morning, March 20th, the team rocked the pool in Orlando, Florida. In the 400 IM, Rachael Desantis (4:23.4) and Lindsey Hagens (4:24.4) both secured spots in the Top 16 and returned to swim the events in the evening. In addition, Lindsey was in 9th place in her 50 Breaststroke (29.9) going into the evening finals. Michael Pryor broke his own team record in the 400 IM. His previous time was 3:58.38 set in 2007. The new team record is 3:57.8. For meet results visit this link.
