What is Masters Swimming? Masters Swimming is an adult swimming program that is designed for adults ages 18 and up. Whether you are looking to learn how to swim, improve your current swimming technique, build a better swimming leg for your triathlon, or have a competitive swim practice with other adults; Greenwood Masters has a place for you. Greenwood Masters is a member of United States Masters Swimming and New England Masters Swimming.
What should I expect at practice? The main focus of Greenwood Masters workouts will be technique in all four competitive strokes while improving swimming speed and aerobic endurance. Practices will be tailored to swimming ability. Can’t swim all four strokes? Don’t worry. We will teach you.
Are there competitions? New England Masters host meets year round with the main focus being on the championship meets in early December and April. These meets are a lot of fun and include competitors from all over New England. The age range for swimmers at these meets begins at 18 and regularly includes swimmers into their 90s!
Do I have to compete? Although the meets are a lot of fun, many people choose not to compete.
