Head Coach Don

Don Lemieux

Head Coach

The 2007-2008 season marks Don Lemieux's 28th season as Head Coach of the Greenwood Swim Club. An ASCA Level 5 Coach, Lemieux has coached swimmers to the USA National and Junior National Teams, including Samantha Arsenault, a 2000 Olympic Gold Medalist, and Erica Meissner, a 2004 US Open Champion and 2005 Junior Pan Pacific Gold Medalist. Lemieux has also coached 7 Olympic Trial Qualifiers, 29 H.S. All-Americans, and many Scholastic All-Americans. His teams have won countless Age Group Championships and Senior Championships as well as the 1996 US Open Women's Team Champions.

As coach of the Gardner High School girls' team his girls have won 15 consecutive State Championships and 105 consecutive dual meets without a loss. Lemieux's swimmers hold 9 out of 11 high school state records. Coach Lemieux served on the National Junior Team staff and has coached several USA training camps.

Lemieux believes his team goals are to create a team atmosphere of young athletes that thrive on challenges, both academic and athletic.

Lemieux is a graduate of Springfield College (B.S.). He and his wife Patricia have 2 children, Tricia and Donny, and reside in Gardner, MA.

Coach Jack

Jack Fabian

Coach Fabian was appointed National Development Coach for Greenwood Memorial Swim Club in September 2005. Prior to GMSC, Jack was the head coach for the KSC Valley Gators (GTRS). Jack merged his club with GMSC in order to be a part of a powerful regional USA swimming program that will provide state of the art coaching for all levels of swimmers in Central Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont. He is an ASCA Level 3 coach.

Fabian divides his time between coaching GMSC and his other job as the head coach of the Keene State College swimming and diving team, which has established itself as one of the top Division III programs in New England. For the past three summers he has been selected as a zone coach for New England swimming at the Eastern Zone long course championship meets in Buffalo, NY in 2004, 2005 and 2006. He has coached swimmers from his programs to National Age Group Top 16, Junior National, Sectional, and New England Championship qualifying times.

Coach Fabian grew up as an age-group swimmer in southern Connecticut. He dedicates his passion for swimming to the memory of his father, who was an accomplished distance swimmer at Wesleyan University. He received his BS from Hobart College in Biology, and a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the State University of New York at Buffalo. His scientific interests have switched from the molecular level to physiology and he is the proprietor of the company Sports Science Technology which uses digital video analysis to enhance and perfect technique in sports such as swimming. Fabian still competes in open water and New England Masters swim meets and lives with his wife Claire and their two children, Max and Eva, in Keene, New Hampshire.



Coach Chris

Chris Woolridge

Head Age Group Coach


Chris comes to Greenwood from the Hampshire Hills Seawolves of Milford NH where he was the Head Coach for the 2004-05 Season. Before coaching the Seawolves Chris spent 4 years as an assistant coach with the KSC Valley Gators in Keene, NH.

While at HHS, Chris coached three NE Open qualifiers- the first in over ten years at Hampshire Hills. He also coached four individual event winners at GSSA Championships as well as five individual event winners at TSSA Championships.

Chris, an ASCA Level 2 certified coach, brings strong technical knowledge to the age group program as well as a passion for the sport of swimming. It is Chris' goal to build technically sound swimmers so that they have the tools to succeed in swimming at any level.



Coach Diana

Diana is the past Aquatics Director/Coach (11 years) for the Clark Memorial Pool. She has brought to Greenwood her enthusiasm, experience, love of swimming and of children. Diana has been with Greenwood since November 2002. She has been a Special Olympic Massachusetts coach for the past five years and oversees the Greenwood Learn to Swim and Recreational Swim Team Programs.
